HISTORY
I have been
playing guitar for over 20 years, starting off with classical and
gradually branching out into various other styles. In 1987 I
also took up bass-playing.
By the mid 90's I was firmly
into 'singer/songwriter' mode, playing regular gigs at places like the
Mean Fiddler and Windsor Arts Centre. I released a self-penned
album of songs entitled 'Kissing, Tearing and Losing' in 1995. See
publicity photo album.
My first love has always
been 1950's / early 60's rock n roll and in 1996 I formed a 3-piece
rockabilly-influenced band called 'The Runaway Boys' playing material
by Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, The Stray Cats and Elvis as well as a
few original songs. We played many successful gigs until the
band split in 2000.
Nowadays my obsession
with late 50's/early 60's music - specifically the British
records from this era, typified of course by Cliff and The Shadows ! -
has reached fever pitch...
